Course Description and Credit Information
This session will provide participants with a review of Environmental Ethics in terms of three major field theories: ecofeminism, deep ecology and new animism. We will look at the practical links between government policy, social justice, environmental justice and economic sustainability in order to make some predictions about the future development of environmental ethics in relation to the design field.
Learning Objectives:
1. Participants will consider the history of ethical discourse on Ecofeminism, Deep Ecology and New Animism in relation to Environmental Ethics.
2. Participants will explore key projects and initiatives in relation to Environmentally Ethical discourse.
3. Participants will reflect on the goals of environmental and economic sustainability in relation to their own work.
4. Participants will consider their personal feelings, biases and priorities about ethics in relation to the environment and sustainability.
