Course description

This course will cover the current state of bumble bee populations in the United States, with a focus on endangered species. Participants will learn about the science behind the threats facing bumble bees, including habitat loss, pesticide exposure, and climate change. The course will also discuss the efforts being made to recover endangered bumble bee populations, including conservation programs, citizen science initiatives, and research into bumble bee biology and behavior. By the end of the course, participants will have a deep understanding of the challenges facing bumble bees and the potential solutions for protecting and recovering these important pollinators.

Learning Objectives:

1. Participants will understand the biology and behavior of bumble bees and their role as pollinators

2. Participants will learn the role of citizen science in monitoring bumble bee populations
