Course Description and Credit Information
Restoration ecology used to be an integrated study with ecology until it became a separate filed in the 80s. Basically, Restoration Ecology is about restoring and/or renewing damaged and degraded ecosystems through human intervention, but there is more to this process than meets the eye. In this course, Dr. Homer will delve deeper into ecological restoration while exploring the various activities involved as well as its results.
Participants will learn about both the positive and negative outcomes of restoration efforts done by experts determined through set scientific measurements. It also talks about the various perspectives that may have an impact on the future of natural habitats and urban environments.
Learning Objectives:
1. For participants to learn about ecological restoration and its results.
2. Learn about how the success of the ecological restoration process is measured.
3. Understand ecological restoration in different perspectives and how it affects the future.
