Course Description and Credit Information

The Sustainable Sites Initiative (SITES) is a program based on the understanding that land is crucial component of the built environment and can be planned, designed, developed, and maintained to avoid, mitigate, and even reverse detrimental environmental impacts. This webinar will provide an introduction to SITES and discuss its benefit, principles and goals.

 

Learning Objectives:

1. Gain an understanding of the key drivers associated with the need for sustainable land design and development. 

2. Be able to identify and describe the benefits of the Sustainable Sites Initiative (SITES). 

3. Understand and describe the ecosystems services framework of SITES. 

4. Describe the guiding principles of SITES.
