Course Description and Credit Information
This webinar explains how we can address the impacts of climate change through desert landscape conservation which focuses on developing common conservation goals and objectives for managing three focal ecosystem types within our geographic area, namely, arid grasslands and shrublands, stream habitats and spring habitats. In addition, it will further discuss the collaborative process of the landscape conservation design in the desert region. Lastly, it will explain how to nominate pilot areas for the initial design.
Learning Objectives:
1. Understand how to apply design and planning processes for the conservation of our important landscapes and the myriad ecological, cultural, and economic benefits they provide.
2. Recognize the importance of working together to incorporate adaptation into our existing processes and working across borders to have a positive collective impact on conserving natural resources for people and wildlife.
3. Gain a deeper understanding of the desert landscape conservation planning and design process.
