Course Description and Credit Information

This webinar present and discusses design elements, technical aspects, and design analysis of the ASLA Honor award winning design Underpass Park located in Toronto, Canada.  The Underpass Park site is presented in the greater context of the urban area and highlights how neglected forgotten areas can be designed into great spaces. A presentation of the design, discussion of some of the technical and design choices help to illustrate some design elements such as the urban disconnect that these areas present for cities, safety considerations, programmatic potential, and real-world implementation.  This site excels in becoming a destination for all citizens of the city and highlights what can be accomplished when thoughtful design is implemented.
