Course Description and Credit Information
This webinar shares how the designer/landscape architect drew on the special considerations of the Arthur Ross Terrace and Garden's close proximity to Central Park including the historic nature of the Carnegie mansion. Moreover, this lecture also incorporated Richard Schermerhorn, Jr.’s unbuilt 1901 design plans for the garden.
Today, the most notable feature of the original Carnegie Mansion property is accessible to the public from the museum’s East 90th Street entrance and to museum visitors through the Taralucci e Vino Cafe.
Learning Objectives:
1. Learn about Contemporary Urban Landscape as depicted by the Arthur Ross Terrace and Garden project.
2. Understand the importance of creating landscape projects that benefit the community and encourage people to be active in their community.
3. Comprehend a re-imagined rockery referencing the geology of Carnegie Hill.
