Course Description:

The course explores the importance of preserving intact and connected core habitats, working lands, and open spaces to facilitate species migration, adapt to climate and land use transformations, and minimize conflicts between humans and wildlife. Additionally, it examines the establishment of an inclusive and long-lasting national framework for landscape conservation through effective coordination and the mobilization of expertise from multiple sectors. It offers a comprehensive study of large landscape conservation and the significance of collaboration among various stakeholders and jurisdictions. It focuses on the management of ecosystems that extend across county, state, tribal, and national boundaries, with an emphasis on maximizing the social and environmental advantages, including ecosystem services.


Learning Objectives:

2. Attendees will understand  the challenges and opportunities in implementing large landscape conservation initiatives.
