Course Description and Credit Information

This session reviews current theories surrounding socially and ecologically engaged and remedial art making, as well as introduces new artists and designers, materials and processes in artwork that aims to effect the landscape it is made in relation to.

 

Learning Objectives:

1. Participants will consider needs, participants and components of socially and ecologically engaged practice. 

2. Participants will consider the evolving relationship between personal creativity and social responsibility, and make predictions about the future of ecologically sustainable design in their own field. 

3. Participants will consider their personal motivations for pursuing a career that is an art, as well as an environmental action.
